Welcome to Kirkwood Apartments, a low-income housing community managed and made possible by Ayr and District Citizens Association. Our organization is dedicated to improving the lives of citizens in our community, and we are proud to offer high-quality, affordable housing options for those in need.
How to Apply
What Renter Are You?
You CAN NOT apply for Rent Geared-to-Income housing through Ayr and District directly.
Ayr and District charge two types of rental rates – some of our tenants pay market rent and other tenants pay subsidized rent [Rent Geared-To-Income (RGI) and Below Average Market Rent (BAMR)].
The process to apply for housing is different for each type of rental rate.

The subsidized rent application process must be completed through the Region of Waterloo Community Housing Access Centre. You can download and print an application by clicking below.
Future Projects
Community Gazebo

This project will involve the construction of a beautiful and functional gazebo in a central location in the community.
The gazebo will provide a gathering place for community members to come together for various events and activities. It will be a place for concerts, farmers' markets, picnics, and other community events. We hope the gazebo will become a beloved and well-used community feature.
We are currently in the planning stages of this project and are working closely with local partners to ensure that it meets the community's needs. Stay tuned for updates and information about how you can get involved and support the construction of the Community Gazebo.
